breeders [ 542d49 ]This is the name that has been given to all enslaved humans, whether you are governed by a shifter or a vampire. All breeders end up in the same place anyway. By day, they are locked up in boarding houses according to age. Newborns through toddlers (two-year-olds) are kept in one boarding house, ages three to eleven are kept in another, twelve to fourteen, and fifteen to eighteen in others. These dorms are watched over by "dorm mothers" and "dorm fathers" based on gender. At night, they are granted recreation time, but are watched closely by their governing beasties. They live in boarding houses until the age of eighteen, when they are granted their own apartment complex and are forced to mate with their designated partner. Once each couple has given birth to a boy and a girl, they are eaten. Or, if you're a stronger one, turned. fugitives [ 213c22 ]These guys are the rebellious little tykes. They think they can make it out there in the wilderness, or at least try. They would rather die by the hand of nature, rather than that of a monster. Fugitives are either smarter or stronger than your average Joe, or a combination of the two. It takes a lot to out-smart or out-brawn a horde of monsters. Which is a pity, because these guys could have been the strongest beasts if they had allowed themselves to be turned. But anyway. Only the cunning survivalist fugitives can thrive in this wilderness. Without the human race to hold them back, the ferocious beasts that inhabit the wild have free range. Also, this is where monsters come to hunt when they can't hold off between feedings. Many a fugitive has died because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time. shifters [ 4a2f1c ]You've all heard the stories. Half man, half wolf. You're probably quirking an eyebrow and thinking to yourself, "Wouldn't that make them werewolves?" Well.. no. Yes, the change will happen whether they want it to or not, but unlike your run-of-the-mill werewolves, these guys have control of their mind while they're in their wolf state. All the wolf does is morph their body, making it stronger (and furrier). They're kind of like vampires in the fact that as soon as they are bitten, a demon inhabits their body. While they are still in control of their brains, they have lost a thing we simpletons like to call humanity. That's the voice in the back of your head that tells you you're doing something horribly wrong. Shifters no longer care that they're eating human flesh. The way they see it, it's the only thing keeping them alive. By the way, they are unconscious for at least twelve hours after being bitten. Then they wake up all dog-like. ;] vampires [ 5e1f1d ]I'll make this perfectly clear: vampires on here don't sparkle. They have a real reason for avoiding sunlight. And no, they don't burst into flame. Their eyes are adjusted so that they can see well at night. So adjusted that sunlight seems ten times brighter to them. Vampires can go blind from being out in the sun too long. So, to preserve their eyes, they got out only at night. All of their senses are finely tuned, and they can hear things from miles away. They are super strong and fast, and their brains can process things ten times faster than humans. Sorry kiddies, but vampires don't have extra sensory perception. Or any kind of "special talent," really. One more thing : they smell like death and decay, not some flowery crap. To the normal human senses, it smells like regular BO. To a fellow vampire, it smells like rotting meat. Vampires are made vampires by the exchange of blood, which means the sired must drink the blood of the sire for the transformation to be complete.
